Need to fight a ticket?
How many points do you have on your license right now?
Every one of us deserves to have our legal protections upheld.
We all have rights that are protected under the law, but many times our rights are overlooked simply because we were not aware of them.
For example: you have the right to fight a ticket for any victim-less crime.
This unwitting lack of understanding of the legal system can come at a high price at times. Needless to say, ignorance isn’t always bliss.
This rings especially true in legal matters. It is for this reason that you should never pay a ticket without fully knowing your rights.
How to Fight a Ticket
Beat the Ticket Secrets reveals all the legal defenses you need to dismiss the ticket, no matter the traffic offense. As long as no one was put in harms way or injured – you can BEAT THE TICKET!
We’ve already discussed the hidden costs that come with traffic tickets…
But what about the license point demerit system?
Ever wonder how many points it takes to have your license suspended?
Each state gives slightly different points for traffic violations however…
In most states if you have a total of 13 points in a 2-year period, your drivers license will be suspended. This is why protecting your driving record should be a priority.
You could unwittingly suspend your drivers license if your points exceed the maximum allowed. So if you think you have too many points and you’ve been ticketed, be sure that you check your record BEFORE paying the ticket.
How to Check Your Traffic Record
Step 1: Locate Your Driver’s License & Social Security Number
You’re going to need your license number for the website, so go get your license out of your wallet (unless you have your driver’s license memorized).
You will also need to confirm your identity using your Social Security Number. You should have this memorized. If you don’t know it, look for your Social Security card, which should have been sent to you when you received your number.
Step 2. Go to the State Website
You should visit your State’s Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles website or SearchPublicRecords.com. Near the top of the page, you should see “Driver License & ID Cards.” Click on this. Then click on “Driver License Check & ID Tracking System.” This will take you to the page that you need to go to.
Step 3: Enter Your Driver’s License Information
After entering the license number, you will need to retype characters from a picture into the space below. You should then click on “Enter.”
If you are a parent, you can also check your minor teen’s driving record by entering his or her driver’s license number into the website.
Step 4: Verify Your Identity
The website will ask for additional information so that it can confirm your identity. You will be asked to enter the final 4 digits of your Social Security Number (SSN). If you are checking your child’s record, you will need to enter his or her SSN.
Step 5: Check Ticket Information
Your driver history should appear. You will be able to find out important information about any traffic ticket that you have received. You can also perform a driving school eligibility check, if you want.
Beat the Ticket Secrets not only maintains a clean driving record, but also prevents you from incurring hidden costs like your insurance rates from skyrocketing for two to three years straight!
