Do You Really Own Your Land?

Do believe you really own your land?

Many hardworking homeowners believe they own their homes & property.

But the truth is…

you don’t actually own your property.

We know how disappointing this news can be but it’s the truth.

Every deed conveys “color of title” meaning “that which in appearance is title, but is not (in fact the actual legal title).”

There are numerous U.S. and State Supreme Court cases stating land patents as the only true title.

What’s that mean for you?

It means that warranty deeds, trust deeds, sheriff’s deeds, tax deeds, and even wills are ALL color of title deeds.

“The patent is the only evidence of the legal fee simple title.” McConnell v. Wilcox, I Scam (III.) 381, 396 (1837)

Unless your land is patented, you do not own it in reality!

And thus your property is subject to property taxes, liens, and foreclosure.

It’s the same reason why you have to ask the county for permission to build or dig up anything on “YOUR” property…

If one does not have their property patented, they are tenants leasing from the government and at risk of losing the land.

Isn’t it time you obtain TRUE OWNERSHIP of your property?

Wondering what other benefits come with patenting your land? We’ll be touching on that in tomorrow’s blog post.
