What often happens is the banks lawyer or attorney will bring a certified copy of the note or debt document/s.
Even though it’s a “certified copy” it’s still a COPY.
You need to see the ORIGINAL document.
Because certified copy does NOT verify the authenticity of the original document.
Ask them: “Where can I see the original documents that proves the debt?”
“I need to see the original document, otherwise how can I be sure this is authentic & valid?”
If they don’t have the originals – then they can’t collect.
They have to be able to prove that…
1) You have a relationship with the lender/creditor
2) Provide the original documents signed that began the relationship and/or proof of money owed.
